Re: Abbreviations for dummies!

I was writing a list of all the taks that had to get done on my farm (eventually). For time frame I put Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter and DHYB. (Don't hold your breath!)

Re: Abbreviations for dummies!

English teacher's list to abbreviations:

CSTM- can't stand those misspellings
DHKEG- doesn't he know English grammar
GTRH- get the right homonym
DEYSWAP- don't end your sentences with a preposition

I always have to remember to DEYSWAP! :hide:

Re: Abbreviations for dummies!

I just love Prospector's SWMBO (she who must be obeyed).  I don't know if he made it up or not, but I think it's hilarious!

2 great kids, a "Reluctant Farmer" husband (self-titled), Barred Rocks, Ameracaunas, Chanteclers, Dark Brahmas, Cochins, a couple of Marans and Wellsummers. Also Cornish Giants, English Large Black pigs, and Cotswold sheep all during the warmer months. The goofy Golden Retriever, 1 house cat, 1 barn cat, and 1 bunny are all permanent residents.  Lovin' my little hobby farm!

Re: Abbreviations for dummies!

DH is just faster to type and can reflect my feelings at the moment  or purplezfight .  I have 2-3 year olds hanging off of me and the faster I get a note done the less chance they will be dancing on the kitchen counters

IMHO-in my humble opinion
DE - dimaceous earth (good grief I can't spell that)
hova - hovabator incubator
WW-white wyandotte
chanti-chantecler

Blue/Black/Splash Standard Wyandottes; BSW Turkeys, Leghorn/Exchequer Crosses and our Yummy Meatie Crosses.
