I had SOO much fun, and I learnt SOOO much!! The other, more expirienced show-people were soo helpful. They were putting all kinds of special creams on my birds heads and feet to make them look better and explaining everything to know about showing etc etc. There was a guy all the way from Alberta who gave me a trio of SQ Silver Sebrights for free if I promised to work on the breed and continue showing them. There was also a Call Duck breeder who breeds AMAZING Call Ducks. He said to call him in the spring when he starts pairing up his birds, the extras (which are still great birds, good enough for him to be using for breeding) he would sell to me for not very much money to help get me started. He's kinda taken me under his wing as far as Calls go =) I think they are just really happy to see someone younger getting into the hobby, there aren't many teens or even young adults interested anymore.

Yep, they are sooo small! My family didnt even believe they were chickens at first :veryfunny:

He gave me the contact info of someone in my area who knows a lot about Sebrights so I can ask them if I need any help.

Wow some nice looking birds there!
How many birds were at the show?
It is nice to get to chat with other breeders face to face.
Maybe I will bring some birds out there next year?

I am guessing maybe 50-60 birds? It wasnt a HUGE show, they did it with a pigeon club who was having their show and there was probably 1000 pigeons there! You should bring some birds, I would love to meet you =)

Re: Pics from the Cluck and Quack Poultry Club show!! (pic heavy)

I was at the show and showed 48 birds myself.  There was 283 poultry and 1200 pigeons.  It was a really good show.  Paul Monteith, owner and publisher of the Canada's Number one paper the Feather Fancier was the poultry judge.

Some of the Poultry results:
Show Champion - White Call Hen shown by J & J Call Ducks (Jack and Justin Robertson)
Reserve Show Champion - Black Cochin Pullet shown by C-R Ducks ( Rico S and Casey Vandermeer)
Champion Bantam - Black Cochin Pullet shown by C-R Ducks
Reserve Champion Bantam - Black Cochin Pullet, a second place Pullet shown by C-R Ducks
Champion Large - White Wyandotte Pullet shown by Bryan Shelton
Reserve Large - White Wyandotte Hen shown Bryan Shelton
Champion Waterfowl - White Call Hen shown by J & J Call Ducks
Reserve Waterfowl - Grey Call Hen shown by J & J Call Ducks

Check the February Feather Fancier for the complete coverage and show results.

:ohyea:   :woohoo:  Great job and I can see how much fun you had.  Usually when there are serious breeders at shows like this, they are so willing to share information with anyone that will listen.  They are all trying to help the breed improve. When they see a young lady such as yourself with all that enthusiasm, it makes them feel good to help you too.  I am very happy for you CBB.  Congrats on the show and on your new birds-SCORE!

wow I was REALLY off with how many birds I thought was there, people should never ask me those questions lol. The birds were really happy to be home, there was a few mins of getting the pecking order figured out again but thats it. My new Sebrights are really happy in their new home too, they are such awesome little birds =)
