Blocking

Hi,
Is there a way to Block Topics or Specific Members Posts? I tried the search function for this and couldn't find anything
Thx!

Re: Blocking

No, I don't believe there is that function here.  I would just avoid topics or threads that are of no "interest"  =)

Re: Blocking

Yardbirds is correct.  Avoiding certain topics would be the best.

Re: Blocking

KB you could try what I do. Read the topic and resist sending a reply.

Re: Blocking

Another great strategy is to write what you really want to say, and then read it over, wait, and then delete.  I do this all the time on Facebook!

Re: Blocking

Yes, nothing better than helping an objectionable thread die by ignoring it.

If I am really incensed I will draft a reply and then delete.

Re: Blocking

My advice? Laugh. I read some things and just roll my eyes. Privately lol. Some people just NEED to be an authority. Maybe some personal feeling of inadequacy. Not my concern. You have education and experience. Those two things combined are fundamental to a discussion about certain topics.  When faced with someone so dead-set on an opinion, so small minded, it really isn't worth it.
Read the posts and chuckle.

Re: Blocking

I've been asking for the ability to block people for a long time ... so far, no luck!

Re: Blocking

I'm one of those whom has typed up a very long and perhaps, not so nice, post in reply to something that I read.  Sometimes I'm quite worked up and am typing HARD on my keyboard.  Like really, typing hard is getting my point across.  Laughing now.  I read it and then delete.  Sometimes if I'm really not sure I want to delete it, I copy and paste into my "Word" sheets.  I had a whole file called "ACE angry replies"   I only deleted that file last Christmas.  I think perhaps it may be time to start another.

Typing it out makes me feel better.  When I hang onto it for a little while I know that I can still use it if I need to.   Funny, I have never had the NEED to use them.
