Wrong way the turkey

I told you earlier in the year about Wrong Way a little turkey who always ran in big circles usually the wrong way to keep up with the others. Well he's big now and still strange. I've concluded that he's probably blind in one eye. So he always ran toward the side he could see. He seems to have adjusted that behaviour but he's taken to flying up onto the chicken house roof for the night. That works ok, I think he can see the roof against the evening sky. The problem is that he can't get down. He has no depth perception so walks back forth along the roof edge calling out. Everyday I have to take a long pole and chase him off. Once he's off the edge he can drop to the ground no problem, he just won't take the plunge himself. This has been going on for a few weeks now and at first I could just wave the pole behind him and he would spook off the edge. Then he got wise to that but for awhile I could slap the pole on the roof behind him and he'd fly, then I had to sort of sweep him toward the edge. Now today he won't go up to the edge he stays about middle and dodges from side to side so I had to get up on the ladder and give him a push. It's a good thing we are coming up to thanksgiving. chzick :cull:

Re: Wrong way the turkey

Surely Wrong Way should get "amusing pet" designation by now!
