Chicks

Last fall I bought a little frizzle rooster. My hens are old but I put him with 3 mixed hens that were still laying a few eggs when the notion strikes them. Yesterday  I managed to have 8 hatch. I have another 8 in the incubator due to hatch in 2 weeks so there should be at least 3 or 4 females among them. It will be interesting to see what they grow up to look like.

Re: Chicks

I hatched two sizzle roosters once.  They were really pretty.  Good luck!

Re: Chicks

The second set of eggs hatched yesterday. I now have 15 of my little experiment. 4 are colored like jungle fowl so if the late father-in-law was right, these will probably be roosters. The rest are black at present so will have to wait and see how they feather out. My fun for the year.
